Bob CarterHerb Sennet, Screenwriting
Herb Sennett teaches screenwriting at the Miami Film School. He has an extensive background in theatre (as director, designer, teacher), education (as consultant to the Florida Board of Education), broadcasting (on-air personality and sound engineer), and writing (2 books and numerous articles). Having earned the Ph.D. and several masters' degrees, Herb has taught theatre and communications at three collegiate institutions including Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Herb studied dramatic writing with famed Nigerian writer/director/actor Femi Euba while at Louisiana State University. Herb has written four stage plays (one of which has had an extensive production history) and several screenplays. Herb's first movie, "Finally Home" was featured at nearly a dozen film festivals and won first place at the ReBirth Fine Arts Festival in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2005.

Herb's latest movie, "A Veteran Affair", stars Michael Winslow, of Spaceballs and Police Academy, and Bob Carter, a popular West Palm Beach actor/director. Herb also teaches communications at Palm Beach Community College.

John McCormack, Post-Production
John was born in Edison, New Jersey but spent most of his younger years in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia living with his family. Returning to the United States, he graduated from the Art Institute in Ft. Lauderdale with an A.S. in Video Production where he received the "Highest Achievement Award" in his program. John edits full-time at The Broadcast Arts Group, a production and post facility in addition to consulting and free-lancing. Recently, he was the producer and editor of "Art's Point of View" which went on to become an Official Selection of the 2005 Palm Beach International Film Festival. He currently lives in Boca Raton, Florida.

Larry DeCarmine, Sound
Larry DeCarmine teaches Sound and Post-Production Sound Design. He has an extensive background in audio production, film, recording and mixing location sound. A partial list of his production credits include: "Malcolm X", "He Got Game", and "Clockers". He has also worked on music videos with a variety of popular artists.

Bob CarterBob Carter, Acting
Bob Carter teaches Acting, Directing and Casting at the Miami Film School. He teaches the filmmaking students to create and develop their characters. He assists with the open-call auditions and provides invaluable casting insight.

He helps our novice filmmakers develop a better appreciation of working with actors. He is a co-founder as well as artistic director of the original Actor's Workshop and Repertory Company back in the early 80s, which he led to develop into a critically acclaimed resident theatre company in downtown West Palm Beach. He has been teaching actors for more than two decades and continues to work extensively himself as a professional actor and director. He is also a skilled "behind-the-scenes" technician.

Mr. Carter is an artist-in-residence at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts. Mr. Carter conducts private as well as group acting classes, drawing from all facets of his years in theatre and film.

Alyn DarnayAlyn Darnay
Alyn spent the longest part of his professional career in Chicago, as owner and operator of Alyn Darnay Productions, a full service Michigan Avenue production company with national clients ranging from Volkswagen to P&G. He has a Masters in Advertising Psychology and spent his post-graduate career in production and script writing at MGM and 20th Century Fox in Los Angeles, where he also did Unit Production Management and Second Unit Directing.??Alyn has directed and produced 14 Theatrical Productions over the years, produced several Live Television Shows, has sold two original scripts and has been published in National Magazines. Two of his short films, "BarTicks" and "Citizen", have won at the Ft. Lauderdale Film Festival. He is a principal member of Chaos Films and has written the book Script: A Breakthrough Guide to Scriptwriting.

Lennie Wong
For over 30 years, Lennie has enjoyed both film and video industry success as an award-winning producer, director and cameraman on nationally syndicated television shows, broadcast television commercials, long form corporate image films, music videos and independent feature documentaries.

He has also served as an instructor of Cinema Studies and thesis advisor at the New York Film School of Visual Arts in New York City.

Lennie is a graduate of Cinema Studies, New York Film School of Visual Arts and has been a member of the Directors Guild of America, since 1979.

Alberto Veloso
Alberto Veloso graduated with a B.A. in English from Florida International University where he specialized in Creative Writing. As a writer, Alberto won first place in the Investor's Screenplay Contest, which lead to an option agreement with Bait Man Films. His latest script, THE DUEL, has been produced by Angry Apple Productions and is currently in post-production.

As a graduate of The Palm Beach Film School, Alberto has also written and directed two short films, "One Night Stand," which won second place in the So Fla Indy Film Festival, and "Butch Date." Additionally, Alberto teaches screenwriting at the Florida Center for Literary Arts and is Campus Coordinator for The Miami Film School.

Open House

Check-out our DV and HD Cameras and Final Cut Pro Edit Suites. We'll show you a couple of short student films, answer any questions, tour the school and discuss tuition payment plans. Of course, there is no cost or obligation. You should allow 60 minutes. Whether you want to be a writer, director, editor, producer, independent filmmaker or digital production, come to our Open House and check out our school, equipment and studios and see if digital filmmaking is for you. We look forward to meeting you. Feel free to bring a family member or a friend.

Class Schedule

The next evening class begins on March 3, 2010. This class meets Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm-10:00 pm for 21 weeks.

Once your film is complete - watching it come alive on the "big screen" in a local movie theater is very exciting for the filmmaker and their friends, family and other independent film fans who attend our Student Screenings.
